Bachelor thesis

As part of the bachelor thesis "an investigation into objective design features for the sustainable appearance of a product" a greenwashing guide was drawn up to encourage the reader to reflect on the results.

The work deals with the research problem that the user does not clearly recognize a sustainable product as sustainable based on its external attributes. There are many products that appear sustainable by means of marketing, packaging or design but are not (greenwashing) and other products that correspond to the values of sustainability without the user being able to recognize this from the outside (hidden beauty).

Therefore, a design award analysis and expert interviews are carried out after the literature review, the results of which are illustrated in the Greenwashing Guide.
